We are pleased to announce that Dorset Disabled Canoing Unit (DDCU) have very kindly agreed for SCC to use their site to launch our boats from their centre, and so we are able to resume our Thursday night paddles from 6th May. Please arrive to be on the water for 6:30pm. Please note that there are no changing rooms or toilet facilities available.

We had hoped to restart activities as soon as Covid Restrictions allowed. However, due to the planned withdrawal of Brockenhurst College from the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre all club activities have been curtailed. None of the clubs and groups who are based at the centre are currently allowed to continue their activities and have been asked to vacate the site by the college by the 4th June.
Until agreement from the council or a new lease holder is in place to allow activities to recommence from Hengistbury Head we are unable to provide training or taster sessions. The club is trying to find a temporary venue but this is proving difficult due to the lack of suitable facilities and equipment storage.
Once the club are in a position to offer activities, we will let you know. If you cannot wait and would like to start paddling, we can only recommend trying one of the other canoe clubs in the Bournemouth and Poole area. These are:
Poole Harbour Canoe Club based at Hamworthy http://www.pooleharbourcanoeclub.uk/
DUCKS Canoe Club based at Longham lakes https://duckscanoeclub.com/location-and-contact/
