The next whitewater trip will take place this weekend on the 2nd December at the Dart!
Water levels are a little lower than ideal, however, we will monitor this throughout the week to make the right decision on which part of the river to paddle.
I currently have the following attending: Chas, Jacob, Martin, Toby, Richard, Ken, David, Evan & Sheila.
If you are no longer able to attend, please let me know as to give others the opportunity to come along.
As always, the weather is getting very cold so please bring appropriate kayaking kit as well as lunch and warm drinks!
We are planning to meet at the Haldon Forest Dinner (Devon Expressway, Exeter EX6 7XS) for around 8:45am / 9:00am for breakfast.
As ever, see you on the water!

If you are not meeting at the Haldon Forest Diner tomorrow morning, we will be arriving at Newbridge for around 10/10:30am. The closest postcode for Newbridge is TQ13 7NT.
Any questions, my mobile is 07521180301.
Wrap up warm, it’s going to be cold! Warm drinks are a must!!

Thanks to Jacob for organising and to Chas for leading us down the lower Dart on Saturday. A great day out, a little bumpy in places but lots of fun.December 4, 2017 at 12:02 pm #768
Many thanks to Jacob for organising, was nice to have the Lower Dart all to ourselves whilst the Dart Loop was scrapey low and packed with paddlers.
Pleasing to see so many SCC on the river, don’t forget the follow on trips 🙂January 4, 2018 at 1:07 pm #778
Hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year!
The first Whitewater Trip of 2018 will be on Sunday 28th January and I have the following people down as coming;
Chas, Richard K, Toby, David, Ken, Jacob & Martin.
If you are no longer able to participate or would like to be added to the list, then please comment on this thread.
We will be deciding closer to the time which river to paddle due to water levels constantly changing.
As always, please bear in mind that it will still be very cold on the river and you will need to bring the appropriate kit with you, this includes food and warm drinks!
Any questions, let me know.

Unfortunately, I have gone and dislocated my shoulder this weekend and so won’t be able to kayak this Sunday.
The trip is still going ahead, of which I have the following down as coming;
Chas, Richard K, Toby, David, Ken.
If you cannot make this anymore, do let me know.

Nice ledge level paddle on the loop yesterday with Toby, although the car park was very busy we had most of the river to ourselves. Surprisingly the play features were clear of paddlers so Toby had plenty of time to practice his moves (video’s may follow later), with the best spot being spin dryer.
Holne weir was not nice, the left hand shute that is normally used at this level was broken up, in the end we ran it through the middle, the V can be seen from either side of the river but not as you approach so was a bit hair raising as you can only see it head on when you reach the lip. But as expected it went fine for us both.
Thanks to Rich for the lift and hope the shoulder op goes well.
