There will be a flat water trip on the Basingstoke Canal on Sunday 19th May meeting 10:00am on water 10:30am off water 13:00 and pub lunch for those wishing to partake at 13:30.
This is a very easy trip suitable for any level of paddler and any boat type. It is along a very quiet and scenic section of canal from Odiham to the Greywell tunnel stopping to visit the ruins of King Johns castle.
The pub lunch will be at The Waterwitch RG29 1AL. Please let me know if you wish to come for the pub lunch, it is very popular and will need a booking.
To park for the trip continue a short distance past the pub and there is free on street parking by the bridge over the canal or a free public car park at the end of the street, but if carrying a boat be aware it has a height restriction, once you pass the pub it’s hard to go wrong the road is a dead end.
I will try to assist with carrying boats for those who don’t have roof bars on a 1st come 1st served basis subject to space on my roof.
As this is about an hour and 15 mins drive from Chistchurch it would make sense to lift share if possible.
