7th January 2020
Following the news that we have moved into our third lockdown, we regret that all club paddles are suspended until the lockdown is lifted. In addition access to Hengistbury Head Outdoor Centre site is strictly prohibited.
We will post further information when the government reviews the Covid situation (due at end Feb/early March)
We understand that the current guidelines do allow paddling for exercise on an individual basis using your own equipment.
Rules when “Rule of 6” is Applicable
- Please note that in order to comply with government COVID regulations, we are limited to groups of 6 paddlers maximum.
- In order to comply with COVID Track and Trace, all members attending must prebook their session in advance on webcollect. Any members who turn up who have not prebooked will be unable to paddle.
- We do not have access to the HH Outdoor centre clubhouse, and so there will be no toilet or changing facilities available. Please use the public toilets near the hiker cafe.
- By participating in club activities you must follow the COVID guidance on social distancing, hand sanitising and not attending if you have potential COVID symptoms.
This website will be updated as the situation changes.
In addition to the regular Thursday evening paddles, the club offers more experienced members the chance to enjoy many organised trips and other events together.
Throughout the season, as well as the formal BCU training courses, we endeavour to run varied and interesting courses and trips. From Sea trips, flat water trips and white water trips to quiz nights, BBQ’s, skittles evening etc. Details of upcoming events can be found below but you will need to be a current member and ‘logged in’ to view the contents of this page.
Dates and details of paddle trips will be confirmed closer to the date due to weather change at last minute.
